Circuit – Tarmac Gravel
Circuit racing over the years has developed and become very popular amongst the drivers & riders and there are many events conducted currently in Sri Lanka. Initially started off on tarmac surfaces at which time there were no purpose built tracks but mainly airports were used for these events. Primarily the two main types run in Sri Lanka are Tarmac & Gravel. As time went by there were purpose built tracks that came up for both these categories of racing and the gravel events are most looked forward to events with a very high participation.
The CMSC being the oldest club has had many circuit meets from the early days at venues like Katunayake airport, Ratmalana airport & Katukurunda air field to name a few. It is noteworthy to mention that there are Championships for both these categories conducted at National level and has produced some great drivers and riders in the past and present. We have also produced drivers and riders who has made a name in the international arena and currently holding international licenses and competing overseas.
